7th Grade Study Island Assessments

Study Island follows the Common Core State Standards for 7th grade math.  Once a topic is covered to completion in class it will be assigned as homework.

BEFORE YOU BEGINa strandin Study Island it's a good idea to click on the blue word to the right of the assignment which reads “Lesson”. This will give you a quick review of the material you will be tested on and you should also review your notes. As you work on Study Island, click on the “Explanation” button if you answer a question incorrectly. If you are still unclear on something, make note of it so you can ask questions to better understand the material before you attempt the test again.

Handheld calculators are not to be used when working on Study Island.  If the use of a calculator is permitted, Study Island will display an online calculator for you.

DO NOTrush through Study Island simply to play the games. Every question you answer is accounted for.  Scores are based on the total number of questions answered correctly divided by the total number of questions answered.  It takes a very long time to raise a low average.

Your goal is to receive a blue ribbon (82% average or higher) in each of the assigned strands. You must answer at least 10 questions in each strand to earn a blue ribbon. If you are having difficulty with a topic, you will automatically be dropped down to a building block level. Once you pass the building block level with a white ribbon, you will be brought back up to the regular level where you must earn a blue ribbon to pass that topic.

Strands will due by an assigned date.  They will be weighted as quizzes with the following percentages earned:
